2009 Report
Hi Guys,
Here's a report of our "Boot Camp" weekend held recently (20-22
March 09)
Sorry it's belated, but I've been meeting myself coming backward recently.
Special guests / choreographers from the Netherlands

We also had Jo Kinser in attendance, providing therapeutic
massages
In keeping with previous "Boot Camps" we had
various dress themes which are purely optional.
Workshops - Combat fatigues
Friday evening - Pyjama party
Saturday evening - Pirates

The event started at 6:00 PM with everyone meeting in the Grosvenor
House Hotel for complementary pre-dinner drinks. After our evening meal
and formal introductions of our instructors and guests social dancing
continued until the wee small hours.
During the course of the evening we had fabulous demonstrations from
our Dutch friends and entertainment from "Miss" LaRoy Faas
- he puts Danny LaRue to shame.
Saturday
Boot Camp recruits parade, workshops and social dancing from 10 AM until

The entertainment continued after the workshops with
a Karaoke party in The Queens Hotel (an overflow hotel we use for the
event) Vocal entertainment being provided by lots of our Dutch friends
and a couple of spots by yours truly.
Saturday evening commenced with the Pirate parade and
then lots of social dancing.
Grrowler taught an easy dance in keeping with the nautical theme.
Again we were enthralled with amazing demos from The Netherlands and
then continued dancing until the last pirates swabbed the deck with
their bleeding feet.

Sunday
Revivals of all the dances taught on Saturday and of course lots of
social dancing.
